The September issue begins with this story and the issue frontispiece by Pasquier illustrates it (frontispiece and p. 257 at HathiTrust). The story closes "J. H. E. (Fredericton)" [New Brunswick]; Ewing is credited by full name in the volume Contents. Pasquier is uncredited here, but credited as above in later volumes for illustrations adequate to identify the stylized "JAP" signature.
