- Thus the four Fantasmagoriana texts in the 2018 anthology are not those discussed by Shelley and her friends in 1816; namely, Eyries's 1812 translations from German to French (Fantasmagoriana, 8 stories). Whether the 2018 texts are new translations from the German originals is an open question.
- In the 2018 anthology, this one of four Fantasmagoriana immediately follows "Prefaces to Tales of the Dead", by Utterson, which partly concerns her five 1813 translations.
