Note: This story may haven't been part of the initial publication of "Pamietnik znaleziony w wannie": at least it has considerable differences in setting, tone & style and wasn't part of the first German edition; it may have been written on request of the publisher or the Polish officials to put the setting of the satirical & lightly absurdist novel - unnamed in the novel, only referred to as 'The Building' - into America (and thus away from Poland / East Europe): it is referred to as to be apocryphical in its last sentence.
