Synopsis: Programmed by the scientists of the premechanical era who deployed the concept of quantum flows, the Machines have taken over the bodies of flesh while small groups of resistance fighters fight against their hegemony. Through the confrontation between Akiyo, a transhuman specialized in quantum engineering, and Solhal, one of these sensitive anthropologists, the Quantum Circles try to influence their relationship to discover a way to improve the empathy and resilience of their human livestock. Without these precious characteristics, machines realize that they do not assume the initial designs of their creators. They must consult the Quantum Nodes, in order to study the probabilities leading to this expression of the decoherence to which their educational circles as well as flesh creatures are subjected.
A vision is becoming clearer, an option emerges, but will it be the outcome that will transcend both the Circles and their offspring or will it bring chaos and the disintegration of all alternatives?
Following this short story, this collection presents a fantastic tale retracing one of the revisited myths of the Werewolf and the concept of the time loop, 'The Wolf's Lair', then the esoteric novelette 'Les Sables d'Or' and finally a novelette dealing with the existence of the metaverse, 'The Avatar'.
