This short novel is an expanded version of the novelette "Nothing Less Than Bones"
Synopsis: Fizur and their family flee to a neighbouring country, when the harassment of their nationality escalates to killings. Fizur is a magic user, but has to hide exactly which kind. Established as a healer in their new home, they discover that a new kind of disease is spreading.
