Synopsis: From author's webpage: "Manu is four days old. He is a labor robot whose sentient brain was restarted from factory default to work in the deployment of a new railroad line. Despite his short life, which started when he woke up at the construction site, Manu has already started to have visions of past lives, human lives. Soon he learns that these visions had a meaning, and why humans have to restore him to factory default periodically to keep him functional. As Manu starts building his first individual personality, he will start to realize that the path to building his new personality could be dangerous."
