Title: Just So Stories for Little Children Title Record # 39137
Author: Rudyard Kipling
Date: 1902-09-00
Type: COLLECTION [juvenile]
Series: Just So Stories
Webpages: librivox.org, Wikipedia-EN
Language: English
Note: 1902 (UK, US, Canada) and 1907 (US: Doubleday, Page) editions do not include the so-called Introduction (Just So Stories) that preceded the first story in the collection, "How the Whale Got His [Tiny] Throat", when it was first published, in the December 1897 issue of St. Nicholas under the heading 'The "Just-So" Stories'.   Those editions simply begin with the whale story on page 1 (1902) or page 3 (1907). Both end with a final verse on page 249, and the last six stories begin on the same numbered page in both eds.—rather than two pages later in the 1907 ed., as the first six stories.

6/-?Prior to decimilisation (1968-1971), UK books were priced in shillings, or shillings and pence, where 20 shillings equals one pound and 12 old pence equals one shilling. Shillings were indicated with a variety of suffixes, e.g. 3s, 3', 3", 3/ all mean 3 shillings. Any number after that is additional pence, usually 6 (half a shilling) but sometimes 3 or 9 (a quarter of a shilling or three-quarters of a shilling).
