Synopsis: In 1974, Zaire became the first sub-Saharan African nation to make it to the World Cup (Soccer) Finals. Here they lost badly, being shut out in every game. This story is loosely based on that incident. It's 1976 and the World Cup final is between Iceland and Zaire. The Zaire star player, Odiwule, always plays in bare feet, and can bend the ball 90 degrees. But he is killed when Iceland's manager replaces the match ball with a refrigerated one he had been hiding in the dugout. Odiwules's foot disintegrates when he kicks the ball and Iceland goes on to claim the cup. Ten years later, the Icelandic manager has become his country's Prime Minister, and is haunted by Odiwule's vengeful ghost.
