Synopsis: A small isolated colony of humans survives in a restricted area of a planet with the help of a technological artifact, having forgotten everything about its origin, and all of human history. A boy seeking initiation into the ruling caste by passing the test of hunting one of the alien creatures who live outside the area habitable by humans discovers that there are many secrets being hidden from the colony by its leaders, and resolves to find out the truth.
