Synopsis: From the Foreword: "This Index is a revision of the Australian Science Fiction Index, 1939-1962, issued in 1964 by the Futurian Society of Sydney. The edition having been exhausted, I have taken the opportunity to add the few paperbacks printed since 1962, to correct numerous minor errors and omissions of detail, and to widen the scope to cover hard covered books, taking the starting date back to 1925 to include our best known early work, Erle Cox's Out of the Silence." He then notes his criteria for inclusion, e.g. for magazines which often included genre stories "Many individual stories in the magazines are certainly not relevant, but leaving them in was the simplest course" and "Explicitly juvenile works were excluded, and so were many Australian editions of American magazines which were merely the British editions with the price and edition statement changed."
