Reprinted as "Death in the Oblong Room" in the men's magazine Adam (Australia), January, 1974.
Synopsis: "Captain Leopold joins his Sergeant to investigate a open and shut case of murder in the college hostel. Ralph Rollings has been found stabbed to death. His roommate Tom McBern was found enclosed with the dead man for 24 hours and he is not willing to make a statement. The only thing they need to convict Tom is a motive and the whole investigation is based on finding that motive." (Arun Kumar)
