According to the notes on the shortfiction sources in "Welcome to the Monkey House" (in which it doesn't actually appear) Vonnegut's intended title may have been "Das Ganz Arm Dolmetscher", but according to the notes in "Bagombo Snuff Box" even Atlantic Monthly didn't publish it under that title.
Synopsis: In the last years of World War II a soldier is recruited as a translator for German on the sole ground that he can recite some lines from Heinrich Heine's 'Die Loreley'
