Gilt page tops. Whispers Press device blind-stamped on back cover. Not issued in dustjacket. "FIRST EDITION" on copyright page. Month from Locus #263 (December 1982) who states this was published after the Doubleday edition. The review slip for the Doubleday edition had a publication date of 1982-10-08 but the Catalog of Copyright entry (TX0000998358) states that it was actually published on 1982-09-20. Which would make the Doubleday edition the true first. In addition, the Whispers Press edition used the Doubleday typesetting (only adding their own false title, title/copyright and limitation/signature pages). No BLIC. No LCCN. There is an OCLC entry for this ISBN (8473906) but it refers to the Doubleday edition.	-
