Note
OCLC 8555758 gives a date of 1903 and a title of The Surprizing Adventures of the Magical Monarch of Mo and His People. However, both Bienvenue and Schmidt's The Book Collector's Guide to L. Frank Baum and Oz and Bibliographia Baumiana by Thompson, Hanff and Maund, state that the Donohue edition was not published until ca. 1913. They also show no variance in title ("Surprizing"). Other Worldcat records reflect this edition as having a 1903 copyright date, which is likely the source for the incorrect date in the above record. This first printing of the Donohue edition is bound in light blue cloth with white stamping, outlined in black or navy blue on the cover and spine. It also contains 12 full color plates as opposed to 8 which were included in the second and third Donohue printings.
