One story is listed as "How a Wooden Horse Won a City" on its title page, but as "How a Wooden Horse Won a War" in the Table of Contents. The interior art consists of 6 full-color plates by Clara Burd, which are listed with the stories that they illustrate. The inside front (and back) cover is an uncolored 2-page version of "Iris Crossing the Rainbow," the illustration for "A Little Errand Girl's New Dress". The cover is also the interior artwork for "When Apollo Was Herdsman".
