The Science Fiction Book Club issued the book in 1968 to capitalize on the popularity of the film (released in the US in April 1968). No information on the cover art, which had only lettering. The catalog number identifies the book as issued between October and November 1968. SFBC did not issue it as a regular selection, and did not change Vanguard's publication date (1963), so the book club edition has been difficult to date, but the catalog number does date it.
