Welcome!

Hello, GeoffGander, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Stonecreek 10:56, 28 October 2015 (UTC)

Links to interviews

Sorry, but because we are publication-based site, the only way to show interviews on your summary page is to enter the publications involved. I'll try to enter the links on your page for bibliographical comments, which is reachable via your summary page. Stonecreek 11:03, 28 October 2015 (UTC)

The Tunnelers

After a review by another moderator I modified the entry to a CHAPBOOK and adjusted the price to $1.99. Is the fiction correctly categorized as short story? Stonecreek 09:21, 30 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi! I think Chapbook is probably the best way to categorise it. It's too long for a short story, really, and it was released by Solstice Publishing as a stand-alone e-book. GeoffGander 16:25, 6 November 2015 (UTC)Geoff

Neo-Opsis Science Fiction Magazine-Issue 26

Hello, I've approved your submission for this issue but made some changes to conform to our standards: 1)put the issiue in its title series ("Neo-opsis Science Fiction Magazine") in order to insert it in the correct series here, 2) somewhat regularized title format, 3) added currency symbol, 4) uploaded cover into our system (it seems we're not alowed to deeplink to the specified site) and added artist. Note that the ISBN entered is likely to be the EAN-13, I've changed its format to show that. You can now enter the contents and, if you own a copy, set you up as its Primary Verifier. The result is here. Thanks for contributing. Hauck 10:27, 21 May 2016 (UTC)

Heroes of Mars

Hello, I've approved your submission for this anthology but made a few changes to conform to our standards: 1) uploaded the scan into our system as we're not allowed to deeplink to the specified website, 2) regularized "J.M. Stewart" to "J. M. Stewart". The result is here. Hauck 16:23, 10 January 2017 (UTC)

Edward Martin, III

In People Eating People, I standardized the two author credits of "Edward Martin III" to Edward Martin, III. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 15:11, 21 January 2017 (UTC)

Principia Ponderosa

Hello, I've approved your submission but had to make some changes to conform to our standards:

  • The book is part of publication series (that in fact already exists here) and not a title series.
  • I've added a currency symbol (I supposed USD).
  • I've changed ISBN-10 to ISBN-13 (as per copyright page).
  • I've changed the format to "tp" as per dimension given at amazon (14 x 1,1 x 21,6 cm).
  • I've uploaded the scan into our system as we're not allowed to link to the specified website.
  • I've disambiguated the Editor's note (see here) and more importantly changed its type to "ESSAY" not "EDITOR" (this type of record is for magazines only).
  • I've corrected "J.L Forrest" to "J. L. Forrest" (as per toc).
  • I've corrected "Selinda Tyson" to "Salinda Tyson" 'as per toc) (note that those two mistakes would have created two "new" authors).
  • I've deleted the credit to Stanley Webb (as per copyright page).

The result is here. Note that some of the points evoked above have already be brought to your attention. Please take some time to lavish some care to your submissions and to read the advice given to you and try, by improving your submissions, to lessen the burden of our all-volunteer staff.
