The Bone House by Stephen R. Lawhead

Ordinarily we don't create records for a book until they're about 2 months from publication (data can change a lot over a length of time!), but I've made an exception and created a record for the US edition. I had to reject your submission because there were more than a few problems with the data as it was presented. In the Welcome section above you'll find links that will help you in adding and updating records. Here are the problems with the rejected submission:

  • There wasn't a period after the author's middle initial, which effectively creates a new author and the record would not be merged with the other publications of Stephen R. Lawhead.
  • The date given was not in the format of YYYY-MM-DD, so the system opts to an unknown date (0000-00-00).
  • The ISFDB standard for hardcover books is "hc".
  • In the ISBN field, only the 13 numbers of the ISBN should be entered. The software automatically converts it to the normal ISBN-13 format and creates a matching ISBN-10.
  • The URL cover image was to a server that has not authorized us to "deep link" to it (meaning we would draw bandwidth from it each time the record is called up by a user.) Most websites don't like that, so we only use websites who have given us permission. (There's a link to the list in the Image Upload pages that is linked in the Welcome section above.) I've linked the record to the Amazon image. The URL in your submission was to the image of an audio book for Lawhead's Hood.
  • Publication series entered in the publication record are not the same as a title series, which can only be entered into a title record once the publication record has been created. Sounds complicated, but you'll get it before long if you continue to contribute to the db. (Here is a help page about the differences in series.)
  • I've changed the name you gave for the series ("The Birght Empire" [sic]) to the one that's already in the database: "Bright Empires".
  • The synopsis you added read more like a promotional piece (" A pulse-pounding, page-turning series unlike any other."), so I've chosen not to include it. If you wish to edit it to be more subjective please feel free to add it to the title record.
