Welcome!

Hello, Kawyle, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! BLongley 00:30, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

Twin-Bred

I approved your submission, but split it three ways to cover the different editions. Please check that I've made the right assumptions. You also had a slight error in the cover image - you gave the URL of the web-page the image is on, rather than the image itself. I've fixed that too. Thanks for contributing, and good luck with the book! BLongley 00:42, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

Playback Effect

Hello, I've approved your submission for your novel result is here. I've just tweaked it a bit to conform to our standards : 1) put the number of pages when printed in the notes (it's quite meaningless for an ebook), 2) added currency to the price (in USD as I supposed that's the case), 3) displaced the ASIN also in the notes, 4) trimmed notes. I've also uploaded a scan. Please (as you're surely owning a copy of the book), consider to become its primary verifier (it just means that you own a copy and that eventual questions about bibliographical data may be asked to you). Thanks. Hauck 16:53, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

Reach

I accepted your additions of Reach and , but made some changes to match ISFDB standards:

  • Binding/Format: I changed the format from "paperback" to "tp". The ISFDB uses a specific set of values. I used "tp" (for trade paperback) based on the dimensions supplied by Amazon.
  • ISBN: The ISBN field is for ISBN and publisher catalog numbers. Not bookseller specific numbers. I moved the ASIN for the ebooks to the notes field.
  • Notes: Notes should not be in the first person nor generic (i.e. "various websites"). I have changed the sourcing to match Amazon for the three pubs that can be found there. For the other one, I changed it to "from author".
  • Price: The price should have the currency symbol as we deal in multiple currencies. I added the "$".
  • Websites: Websites are for links specific to the book. Bookseller links are not included (they are provided automatically by the software via the left menu on the publication listing).
  • Cover Artist Credit: The cover artist field is for artist credit, not designer. I have moved the cover designer credit to the notes field.

We do appreciate your submission. ISFDB has some conventions that need learning, but everything should be in the help links in the welcome message above. We hope you will continue to contribute. And please let us know if you have any questions (ISFDB:Help desk is a good resource for asking). -- JLaTondre (talk) 23:53, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
