Welcome!

Hello, InfiniteWorlds, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!.--Dirk P Broer 07:01, 21 July 2019 (EDT)

Welcome to the ISFDB

I presume you are the editor of the new magazine Infinite Worlds, and have submitted the entry for that publication. I approved that entry, but had to make several changes to conform to the ISFDB practice. First, the title for a magazine should normally include the date. Second, there is no series in this case. Third, the ISFDB has not been given formal permission to use the cover art work. If you are the editor, you can contact the Community Portal and indicate that you give permission for the ISFDB to use your website for cover art. Finally, you need to enter the dollar sign or other currency symbol on price. Bob 21:40, 20 July 2019 (EDT)

Looks like they did so here. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 20:48, 21 July 2019 (EDT)

Displaying Infinite Worlds covers

A quick follow-up re: the Infinite Worlds magazine and its cover images. It looks like we have run into a technical issue. Although Infinite Worlds Web pages like this one are hosted by "infiniteworldsmagazine.com", their embedded images are hosted by images.squarespace-cdn.com. Squarespace-cdn.com is apparently a hosting platform used by multiple Web sites. If we were to support linking to images.squarespace-cdn.com, not only would we be allowing linking to all kinds of other Web sites, but we would also be crediting Infinite Worlds for their images. That would be a mess.

Unfortunately, I am not really sure how to solve this problem. For now I have downloaded the scan of the first magazine issue, resized it to be under 150Kb and uploaded it to the ISFDB server. Hopefully the results look OK. Ahasuerus 14:46, 11 August 2019 (EDT)
