George Parsons Lathrop maybe edited the complete(?) works of Nathaniel Hawthorne by Houghton, Osgood and Company. But WorldCat library record OCLC: 22839550 for one of WorldCat series "The works of Nathaniel Hawthorne in twelve volumes" does not credit Lathrop. (That may have been the defining project of the short-lived company. Some later Houghton and Osgood publishers, separately, apparently originated with similar major projects at hand.) At least some ESSAY by Lathrop were included in Houghton Mifflin eds. of Hawthorne works. So it is likely that several works by Lathrop in many publications are destined for the database in principle.

Both credited and uncredited works. Eg, Twice Told Tales (Houghton Mifflin, 1907) P286245 contents include as of 2016-11-10:

Synopsis of Hawthorne's Life and Works • essay by uncredited
Introductory Note: The Twice-Told Tales • essay by George Parsons Lathrop
Critical and Explanatory Notes (Twice-Told Tales) • essay by uncredited

Per Wikipedia, Lathrop married Hawthorne's youngest child Rose in 1871, purchased The Wayside in 1879, and lived there until 1883. Probably he worked on the works of Hawthorne then and there. Maybe as literary executor or agent of Rose as same?
