Welcome!

Hello, Davidariley, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Mhhutchins 02:41, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

His Own Mad Demons

Submission adding this publication was accepted, but the following changes were made.

  • The publication date was changed to October 28, 2012, based on the Amaozn listing.
  • The format was changed from "pb" to "tp" indicating a trade paperback (more than 7 inches tall).
  • The price was changed to "£5.49". We give the retail price, not the sale price.
  • The link to the book on the author's website was removed from the publication record and added to the title record, which has a webpage-specific link. (This can only be done after the publication has been accepted into the database.)
  • The link to the blogspot for the cover image was replaced by a link to the cover image on Amazon. We can't link to websites without permission form the website server, because these "deep links" draw bandwidth from their server and not ours.
  • Individual content records were added to the publication record.

If any of the changes I've made are incorrect, please respond here on your user talk page. Thanks for contributing. Mhhutchins 02:52, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

The Lurkers in the Abyss and Other Tales of Terror

The same problems with the first submission were also present in this publication. I've made the necessary changes. Again, please check for any errors. If the records are OK, please do a primary verification of them (instruction links in the Welcome section above.) Thanks. Mhhutchins 03:01, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

I forgot to add: when you get a chance, please update the records to give the starting pages of each of the contents. Thanks. Mhhutchins 03:02, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

Malicious Deviance

Many thanks. I'll bear these issues in mind if and when I add any more entries.

Best wishes

David

I'm holding your submission to add a record for this anthology. It has problems similar to those I brought to your attention above.

  • The sale price is given when it should be the full retail price.
  • The cover image link is to the Amazon "Look Inside" image and not the cover image. (That can be easily fixed by removing all of the characters between the "dots" of the URL.)
  • The ISBN-10 is given in the record when there is a ISBN-13 provided in the publication itself (according to the Amazon Look Inside).
  • Only the year of publication is given when Amazon provides the date of publication.
  • The "synopsis" is actually a blurb. It should be an objective synopsis of the work and not a promotional pitch.
  • The publisher, according to the Amazon Look Inside, is "Library of the Living Dead Press".

All of these can be easily corrected, and I'll do it for you. I want to make sure that you are aware of them before doing so, in order for future submissions to in compliance with ISFDB standards. Once you acknowledged reading this message (click on the "edit" link to the right), I'll accept the submission and make the corrections. Thanks for contributing. Mhhutchins 17:09, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
