Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

Escaping the Sun submission

Hi. I have your Escaping the Sun submission on hold. What you have submitted would change this to a different edition. Is that what you intended, or did you mean to create a record for this second, revised edition? I realize the original ISBN doesn't seem to exist (or doesn't exist any longer). But I see the comments in the Look Inside say the book was first published in the UK in 2013, which I assume refers to the edition you originally recorded? Thanks. --MartyD 14:09, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

p.s. Reply here. Edit this section, and indent your response by adding a colon (":") to the front of the text. People who leave messages for you will watch your page for responses. --MartyD 14:11, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

In the absence of a response, I decided to keep the original record (here and your edits here as two separate editions. We can always get rid of one if appropriate. Thanks. --MartyD 01:03, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
Sorry for my delay and any confusion. The original record (here and my edits here are now all to be replaced by a third and hopefully final revision of this eBook, ISBN 978-0-9533388-5-6, to be entered into the isfdb shortly. However, I will also be trying to enter a new first paperback edition of this title, ISBN 978-0-9533388-4-9, which should have a separate record. I only wish to maintain one record for each media type if that is possible. Many thanks for your help Rhett Goreman 01:43, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
I had to reject your submission to change the record for the Feb 2014 edition into one for the Aug 2014 edition. ISFDB standards require that a new record be created if there are changes in any of the data fields, i.e. the ISBN and date fields in this case. Instead of overwriting the record for the Feb 2014 edition, I cloned it to create one for the Aug edition. Mhhutchins 23:32, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
Great. That makes sense. Many thanks for your help. I have now verified all these entries and added Bibliographic comments to show which are IN PRINT and which are OUT OF PRINT. I hope that will help your users. Rhett Goreman 16:23, 29 July 2014 (UTC)
