Welcome!

Hello, Drkimm, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Mhhutchins 01:09, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

The Rolling Darkness Revue 2009: Bartlett: A Centenary Symposium

Re this publication: Is the first piece actually credited to "Anonymous" or is it simply uncredited. Also, it should be typed as ESSAY. The type NONFICTION is reserved for book-length works of nonfiction. One last thing: the other volumes in this series was placed in a title series, but this one was added to a publication series. Was that intentional? Mhhutchins 01:08, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

It's a fictional attribution which is uncredited. ISFDB wouldn't let me leave it uncredited, so I put in as "anonymous". The switch in series was NOT intentional. I believe it should be title series.Drkimm 03:00, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

Based on the fact that all but this one was entered into a title series, I'm going to do the same with this record. I'll also correct the type of the Bartlett Ephemera. I still need you to check the actual credit. You'll also need to adjust the note which mentions this, since I assume it's in the publication or you wouldn't have added a content record for it. Mhhutchins 01:30, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

The "Bartlett Ephemera" is listed in the table of contents of the publication. It's really an odd bit. I'll try to adjust it accordingly. Drkimm 03:00, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

So can you confirm that "Bartlett Ephemera" is credited or not? If not, then change the author to "uncredited". Mhhutchins 03:55, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

Ok. I wasn't aware of the option. It is not credited in the text. Changing to "uncredited". Drkimm 04:22, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

The Rolling Darkness Revue 2006: At the Sign of the Snowman's Skull

You've created two records for this publication: here and here. The first one credits both Peter Atkins and Glen Hirshberg, while the second one only credits Atkins. How is the book credited on its title page? Please respond here so that we determine which record should be deleted, along with the duplicate content title records. Mhhutchins 01:14, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

Sorry. I think I posted it as Atkins then tried to change but reposted (my error) with both attributions. There is NO editor listed on any of these works, but they are all edited by Atkins and Hirshberg. (I just asked Hirshberg; he relayed the information.) Drkimm 03:00, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
It is ISFDB policy to record publications exactly as they are published. If the editor is not credited within the publication, we enter "uncredited" in the editor field. If there is substantial and verifiable proof of who actually edited the book, we make the uncredited title record into a variant of a record which credits the actual editor. Please update the publication records and make them match the books as published. Once that is done, we can proceed to make them into variants, providing the source for the data in the record's Note field. Thanks. Mhhutchins 03:54, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
I have deleted the second publication record, but you still must confirm that the editor credit is stated in the publications. If not, you must update the records to match the publication. Mhhutchins 05:15, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

Ok. I spoke to Hirshberg today about attributions largely because the form itself did not allow me to leave the items unattributed. I will update as you suggest.Drkimm 05:51, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

Glen Hirshberg stories

I added "Pride" and "His Only Audience" in the two issues of Rolling Darkness Revue to the series "The Normal and Nadine Adventures" based on them being described as part of a series in the author's latest collection. --Vasha 16:15, 4 May 2018 (EDT)
