Welcome!

Hello, Kbows, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

Permission to deep link to images

Can I assume that you are the owner of the website to which you have linked the Doctor Who cover images? If so, you must give us permission to deep link to your site. You must also be aware that each time the ISFDB page for those books are opened it will draw bandwidth from your website. If you'd rather this not happen, you can upload the images to our server, using the "Upload Cover Scan" function located on each pub's record. I will hold the submissions until I hear back from you. You can respond to this message by clicking on "Edit", entering your response, and then saving the page. Sign your message using four tildes (~~~~), Thanks for contributing to the ISFDB. I saw that you chose to upload the images to our server. In order for the image to now be displayed in the book's database record, you have to enter its URL into the stated field by updating the record. I've already done that to the applicable records. Also keep in mind, if the covers are identical for several printings, all you have to do is upload one image and then link all the records that have the same art to that image file. For more information on uploading images to our server go here. Thanks. Mhhutchins 00:48, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
I'm going to reject the submissions for the updates to the records for Doctor Who - Invasion of The Dinosaurs and Doctor Who and The Pyramids of Mars (the ones that link to your server). You can upload the images to our server and then link the image files to their publication records. Mhhutchins 00:51, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Linking the uploaded images to the pub records

I've noticed you've uploaded a number of cover scans, but they're not being linked to the pub records. This is not an automatic function, it must be done manually. Once the image has been uploaded to the Wiki, you should copy its URL (that of the image itself, not the image's wiki page). Then go back to the record in the database, choose "Edit This Pub", paste the image's URL in the "Image URL" field, then submit it for moderation. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask them here. I've also noticed that most of your uploads have been over the 150KB limit that we suggest for file size. For particularly large images, we can overlook occasional overages, but for the image size you've been uploading, the file size should be relatively smaller. I suggest changing the resolution or reducing the quality of your scans. Thanks for contributing. Mhhutchins 06:18, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
