Welcome!

Hello, Nosualdini, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Stonecreek 14:19, 26 November 2015 (UTC)

Fear's Accomplice

Thanks for contributing. Don't fret that I have put your submissions on hold, but there are some things that need to be adressed first.

1) You entered this as an ANTHOLOGY, but there were no shortfictions listed, and as you didn't state any source, it is somewhat difficult for us moderators to find additional information.

2) The editor was entered as T M McLean, which we would normalize to T. M. McLean, an author we already have in the database (we try to avoid entering a second author because of missing initial point markings, and we usually normalize names in that way).

3) There were different years given for this anthology: 2013 and 2014, which one would be the correct one? Thanks so far, Stonecreek 14:30, 26 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi,

I'm finding this site a little difficult to use. I'm trying to respond to a series of questions sent to me by a moderator, Stonecreek, but couldn't find a "Reply" link. I do really like the idea of the isfdb, but I'm having problems understanding how to add items, and what to list under each label (under "Title", for instance, I was uncertain whether to list an anthology name or story name. Do I have to also list all contributors into the list that follows?).

Hi! To respond you just have to log into this wiki site, using the password you use for ISFDB. The head of the edit screen has the 'metadata' for the publication (its title, the author(s)/editor(s), publisher, pub. format, etc.). Notes regarding the publication (for example the source for the data) should be put into the notes field. The contents for an anthology (also for a magazine or a collection) should be put into the second half, where you can add the individual titles of the shortfictions or essays. For an example, just look at this publication first and then click on the •Edit This Pub button on the left tool bar (without submitting). If you own a given publication you may want to primary verify it.
Please also take some time studying the welcome section above and follow some of the links provided there. Thanks, Stonecreek 07:39, 27 November 2015 (UTC)
Hello! With no further response I made it into the internet and found the book on Amazon. As the data there provided another publisher and a different date of publication I copied that data. As stated, I normalized the editor's name (else we would have ended up with a second name for McLean, and it is our general standard, see the help pages). I hope you can live with it: further items (for example possible interior art) and some notes would be welcome. Thanks for finding this publication! Stonecreek 11:59, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

Train Wreck and Other Stories

Again, there were some changes necessary to meet our standards. Foremost, the ISBN supplied was invalid. If you have remarks ore questions, please call here or at our help desk. As we strive to catalogue the shortfiction as well, would it be possible to add them to the publication? Stonecreek 09:15, 22 January 2019 (EST)

Hi, I added content for Train Wreck and Other Stories, which may contain errors. BTW: What is the difference between Train Wreck and Other Stories and Train Wreck and Other Stories, other than that the second says 'From the copyright page: "First Published 2018 by Steve Dillon. This version published 2019.', both being trade paperbacks, so neither the hardcover with the wrong ISBN 2370000620095.--Dirk P Broer 16:45, 2 May 2019 (EDT)
