Welcome!

Hello, Thesmiths18, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Mhhutchins 17:31, 3 October 2013 (UTC)

Moosejaw Frontier

I accepted the submission adding a record for this title, but there are some entry problems which I will correct. Please keep these in mind when making future submissions. The documentation behind these changes is available in the links of the Welcome section above.

  • Date field: Changed to the one provided in the Amazon listing. If this is not correct, please make an update in the format: YYYY-MM-DD
  • Publication format field: Each record represents a single publication. Print and ebook publications require two records. I will make this one the print publication and change the field to "tp" which stands for trade paperback (based on the Amazon listing: softcover books taller than 7 inches). I will clone this record to create one for the ebook.
  • ISBN field: Changed the ISBN-10 to ISBN-13, required for all publications since 2007. I will give the one as shown in the Amazon Look Inside. If both are given in a publication, use the ISBN-13.
  • Price field: This was blank, so I gave the retail price as shown on Amazon.
  • Image URL: You gave the URL of the Amazon listing. You should have only given the URL of the cover image file. I'll correct it.
  • Sourcing: You did not give the source for your data in the Note field (as requested in the submission form), so I'm assuming you're working from a copy of the book. If so, so a primary verification of the record (see the link in the Welcome section). In the meantime, I've given Amazon as the source for the data. Unfortunately, I can't verify the cover artist, because that's not shown on Amazon. Please add your source for that in the Note field.

A question: based on the number of pages, are you certain this would qualify as a novel, that is, more than 40,000 words? If not, the record will have to be changed into a chapterbook, the ISFDB designation for a stand-alone publication of a work of fiction of less than novel-length. It's an involved process, so I'll do that for you once you've confirmed the work's length. Thanks for contributing and welcome to the ISFDB. Mhhutchins 17:48, 3 October 2013 (UTC)

I could find no source for an ebook publication, so will leave that to you. Use the CLONE THIS PUB function (under "Editing Tools" on the publication page) to create a second record for the ebook. Mhhutchins 17:51, 3 October 2013 (UTC)

Schadenfreude

Similar problems with this record as with the previous submission (Pub Format, ISBN, no price, bad image link), so I'll make the corrections. Also, because this is a collection, you should create content records for each of the works which are contained within it. And I gave the price from the publisher's website and date of publication from Lulu.com. If any of these are incorrect please make an update submission to edit the record. Thanks.
