Welcome!

Hello, Tophat665, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Mhhutchins 18:50, 8 February 2015 (UTC)

Gaiman's Trigger Warning

I accepted the submission updating this record, but had to make a change in the title and date of the introduction. Generic titles like this have to be disambiguated by adding the publication title parenthetically to avoid the accidental merging of otherwise identical titles. Also, the date of the introduction should be the date in which it first was published. Since this is the first appearance of the collection, the title should have the same date as the publication which contains it. Thanks for contributing. Mhhutchins 18:57, 8 February 2015 (UTC)

BTW, as a new editor, you're not expected to be aware that these newly created content titles will have to be merged with the existing titles in the database. I'll do that for you. If you continue to be an editor at the ISFDB, you will eventually learn additional editing tasks when adding or updating publication records. Thanks again. Mhhutchins 18:57, 8 February 2015 (UTC)

The Best of Electric Velocipede

It occurred to me to check the record for this work on Worldcat.org, and it turns out there are two items that should be added to the beginning of the contents list, and, of course, an additional note:

First item: "A brief history of Electric Velocipede" by John Klima (essay)

Second item: "Introduction (The Best of Electric Velocipede)" by Shane Jones (essay)

Append to notes:" ... and verified on Worldcat.org."

Items added. Hauck 17:16, 3 November 2015 (UTC)

The best of Electric Velocipede

Hello, I've approved your submission for this anthology. In fact it was already present in the database (so you should have edited the existing record instead of creating a new one that I had to delete) and I had to tweak it quite extensively to obtain this result (for example the format, price, ISBN were wrong). There are some points that will probably have to be addressed later (when somebody will buy a copy of the book): e.g. the Heather Martin tale in #8 here doesn't seem to be titled _The Spigot_ or _Spigot_. The Darin Bradley/Darin C. Bradley pseudonym is also perhaps dubious. You'll also note that I've merged the majority of the short stories (in fact there is a simpler way to enter such texts). Thanks much. As you say, it will need primary verification. I just needed to get an extant source on "The Beasts We Want to Be". Excellent editing job. Much appreciated. tophat665
