Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

Author photo for Winfield H. Strock III

Because the image displayed on the ISFDB author page is "deep-linked", we have to have the permission of the hosting website for that image. Facebook doesn't allow deep-linking from their files. I had to remove the link from the ISFDB author data. Mhhutchins 18:46, 14 March 2015 (UTC)

Red Sounding

I've accepted the submission adding this record to the database, but several changes had to be made in order for it to comply ISFDB standards. Those standards are given in the help pages which are linked in the Welcome section above. Please take time to look over this page especially.

I made these changes:

  • Author field was changed from "Winfield H. Strock III" to "Winfield H. Strock, III". The comma is an ISFDB standard when adding a suffix to a name.
  • Publication date was expanded to "2014-10-31" based on the Amazon listing.
  • Publisher's name was corrected from "Booketeer Publishing" to "Bookateer Publishing" based on the title page as seen in the Amazon Look Inside.
  • Publication binding/format field was changed from "unknown" to "tp" (for trade paperback) based on the Amazon listing.
  • The ISBN was changed from "1-5030-5339-3" to "978-1-5030-5339-7". All books after January 2007 should have an ISBN-13 and that is what should be entered into the ISFDB field.
  • A currency symbol ($) was added to the price field, required because the ISFDB catalogs publications from around the world. Amazon gives the list price as $14.19. What is your source for the price?
  • The cover art credit was added to the blank field from data found in the Amazon Look Inside.
  • As noted in the previous message, Facebook doesn't allow other websites to deeplink to image files on their server. I linked to the cover image on Amazon.
