Scott Harper

I'm going to have to reject your submission to change the data of this author. There's a possibility that there are two (or more) authors with this common name. I'm certain that the data is correct for the author of the novel because it's listed on his website. If the short stories are by another Scott Harper, and you have sufficient evidence for that, we can disambiguate them into a different author. Weirdbook #34

Hi. I accepted your submission of Weirdbook #34 but made a couple of small changes:

• I assumed the note remarking that you own it and have a story that appears in it was meant to be a note to the moderator, not a note about the publication, so I removed it from the pub notes.
• The cover image URL was some sort of Yahoo search result URL, not one of Amazon's URL, so I replaced it with a link to the image I found on Amazon.
• I put the title into the Weirdbook series, so it will show up with the other issues.
• The editorial's title type was set to EDITOR, which isn't correct. EDITOR is the title type for a magazine's main title record (like COLLECTION or ANTHOLOGY). For editorials and other short non-fiction, we use the title type ESSAY. So I changed it to that.

Monster Brawl!

Hello, I've approved your submission but had to make some changes to conform to our standards:

• changed editor to "uncredited" (we do not credit publishers as editors).
• deleted given webpage (it must be "about" the book not a place to sell it).
• corrected typo in publisher "Sirens Call Pubications" (Publications?).
• corrected content of ISBN field (it's redondant to add "ISBN-13:").
• uploaded a scan into our system (the link was unusable).
• regularized "T.R. North " to "T. R. North " (note space between initials) as it would have created a "new" author.
• corrected "Ben Howells " to "Ben Howels " as per toc.
• varianted cover art record to canonical name.

Weirdbook 38

Hello,

I approved your submission but did a few changed to bring the record to the standards of the DB

• Added a comma before #38 as per the standards for magazine names
• Books published after 2006 should be entered with their ISBN-13 and not ISBN-10 so I fixed that
• pb is for books approximately the size of mass market paperbacks; real paperbacks need to be saved as tp.
• Removed the link to the magazine site from the record - these should be links to the exact issue, not the generic sites
• The publisher is saved in the DB not as Wildside Press LLC but as Wildside Press.
• Fixed a few names - except for special occasions, when an author's name contain two initials, they need to be saved as "initial, dot, space, initial, dot, space" regardless of how they are entered in the book (so C. I. Kemp and not C.I. Kemp for example)
• We can only link directly to a limited number of sites for images (as listed here so I uploaded a different image and used that instead.
• Added an interior art record as per the moderator note; in the future in such cases just add the art directly.

Weirdbook #38 date

Hi -- I changed the date of this issue to 2018-00-00. That's because for magazines, we use the "cover date" (the date on the cover or masthead) instead of the date of publication.
