Welcome!

Hello, RockinRog, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- JLaTondre (talk) 09:35, 26 October 2019 (EDT)

John Richards Cover Art Credits

What is the source for the John Richards credit art credits you are adding? When credits are not from the publication, the source of the credit needs to be listed in the publication note. The especially true of verified pubs (as the verification is that the data listed matches what is in the pub). If the cover is uncredited in the pub, it should be listed with note similar to "Cover artist not credit. Credit from SOURCE".

Let me know the source for the current ones you have added and I will approve & add the appropriate pub note. For future additions, it would be appreciated if you added the source in the pub notes at the same time you add the credit.

We do appreciate you finding these. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 09:35, 26 October 2019 (EDT)

For the entries that you re-did, I rejected the original versions (since approving them would create a duplicate artist record). There are still some more that need sources. You can see them by clicking "My Pending Edits" on the main page. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 19:24, 29 October 2019 (EDT)
Unfortunately, since there wasn't a response, I had to reject the remaining submissions. I did some searching but was unable to find a source. As such, I had no choice since it was unclear if these had a source, were simply an opinion based on the art style (which we don't do), or other. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 17:33, 8 November 2019 (EST)

The comments on the provenance of artists

These really need to go into the Notes, not the Moderator notes. I will be moving them as accepting but feel free to just add them there :) Annie 18:29, 29 October 2019 (EDT)

One note: keep in mind that the system has two separate logins (Same credentials) - one for the wiki and one for the main site. When it told you that you were not logged in when you tried to upload a cover, it is possible that you were not logged into the wiki while you were still logged into the site. Just login into the wiki again and you should be able to upload covers (and post here). Annie 18:42, 29 October 2019 (EDT)

Strangers in the Universe

Approved your edits but had to do some changes:

  • We are not authorized to use covers from google this way. You can either find it and upload it or find it in a place we are authorized to link to.
  • We are an international DB. 35c should have been recorded as C$0.35 (for Canadian - what this printing is; US 35 cents would have been $0.35). However, as this is for the Canadian third printing and the link does not point specifically to that edition, I removed it - prices can change between printings). If you have evidence that this specific printing was 35 cents, I will gladly add it again :)

The result is here. Thanks for finding the cover artists! Annie 18:39, 29 October 2019 (EDT)
