Welcome!

Hello, Unstern, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Stonecreek 16:41, 17 October 2017 (EDT)

Your recent submissions

Thanks for contributing. I had to make some small changes, most of all to remove the image link for Nina Horvath, because it links to a publisher's page we have no allowance to link to.

For Darwins Schildkröte we also have no allowance but I grasped that you are associated with the website and could give us the allowance? And another thing: Shouldn't it be Bernhard Weißbecker instead of Thomas Weißbecker? Stonecreek 16:48, 17 October 2017 (EDT)

Yes, it is Weißbecker. Sorry for the mistake and thanks for your awareness! - Well, yes, this author´s club actually loves any reports about their/OUR books! I can grant you that it is okay. The photo of myself (I am Nina) is a private photo from a holiday trip. The publisher wanted to use it, got the permission, no restrictions (well, as long it is for promoting me and my works - like cutting out a portrait, brightening the colours). But you can also go to the webpage and ask, the publisher won´t have a problem with that.

Hello, Nina, thanks for the allowance! I am afraid that I can't find the photo on Wurdack's site: if I search for your name, it doesn't show. Maybe you would be able to upload it? The first question was really about the forename (Bernhard or Thomas?). Thanks again, Christian Stonecreek 23:29, 17 October 2017 (EDT)
It is Bernhard. I still have to find out how to upload pictures here, but basically yes. Unstern 00:02, 19 October 2017 (EDT)
It's quite easy: for publications there is a link 'Upload cover scan' right under the main bibliographical data, and for other photos there's the toolbox right here on the left side with the item 'Upload file'. For the licence information (that we may display it) we do need to know who's the copyright holder (if any) and who took the photo. Christian Stonecreek 01:49, 21 October 2017 (EDT)
Thank you for the explanation! I tried it now. I also edited the author´s name in "Darwins Schildkröte", what had been approved. Unstern 20:31, 21 October 2017 (EDT)
And it worked. I just had to add some of the licence information.
Another thing: please use only ESSAY for essays, articles, listings etc. NONFICTION is only for whole books or book-length publications. Usually only SHORTFICTION, POEM, ESSAY, REVIEW, INTERIORART & SERIAL are used for the contents in a given publication (though the other are possible for OMNIBUSes that collect book-length works, like this example.
And just one more: for old german prices please use the format DM XX.XX, for the new Euros €X.XX (and for Schillings S XX.XX). It may seem a bit pickerish, but maybe someday we will run some reports on the developments of prices, and it's much easier to have only one format. Thanks, Christian Stonecreek 15:21, 22 October 2017 (EDT)
And what term do you suggest for a preamble? I used "non-fiction", so what else is suitable? Or should I just leave it out? (Non-fiction cannot be for whole books only, as there is the option for short texts inside a book and I saw that also others used it for preambles.)

I will keep the format for prices in mind. Thanks for informing me.

Fantastisches Österreich

Hi, I think the publication date of (Fantastisches Österreich) and the contained stories is 2005-12-00 (not 2015-12-00), isn't it? Or maybe the pub you have verified is a reprint? Boskar 08:37, 2 December 2017 (EST)

Yes, you are correct. There is no second edition. Will coorect this. Unstern 00:13, 11 December 2017 (EDT)
Hi. I accepted the changes and also changed the date of the COVERART entry to match (it had the same 2015-12-00). --MartyD 19:32, 10 December 2017 (EST)
Thank you! --Unstern

Fiction x Science

Hello, Nina! I have put your submission on hold, since the second editor seems to be credited as just Michael Kaufmann. What is the credit on the title page? Christian Stonecreek 16:11, 25 January 2018 (EST)
