Welcome!

Hello, Jean-no, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Annie (talk) 13:34, 13 July 2023 (EDT)

Un robot poète ne nous fait pas peur

I approved the book but a few things:

  • The cover (https://hyperbate.fr/dernier/files/2023/07/scan_couv_robot_poete_vian_p.jpg) cannot stay like that so I pulled it out. If you go to the book now, you will see a "Upload cover scan" where you can upload the cover and then edit the book to add the URL (the cover will point to the book automatically but not the book to the cover).
  • The format: "other" is essentially for things that are not on paper or any other of the listed formats. If the reason you used it is because the paperback is an unusual size, use "tp" (which stands for any paperback bigger than a standard American sized mass market paperback) and add a note on exact format/sizing/whatever you want to.
  • We already discussed the essay thingie in here but let me know if anything else is needed or if you need more help.

Let me know if you have any questions and welcome again! :) Annie (talk) 14:15, 13 July 2023 (EDT)

Thank you, I made a few changes. I'm sorry not to know very well the english language categories for books (I used "nonfiction" instead of "essay" and I didn't guess that pb standed for "paberback"). But I'm finding my way. Jean-no (talk) 16:31, 13 July 2023 (EDT)
Non-fiction is correct for a book of non-fiction. It is an essay inside of a book or magazine. Careful with tp and pb - pb is for small books (mass market paperbacks - look at the help page for exact size); most paperbacks will be “tp” in the DB. And no worries :) Annie (talk) 17:31, 13 July 2023 (EDT)
I rejected this submission. Title type on the title record must be the same as the pub type in the publication record. Looks like you were trying to choose the second option Annie gave you. "import the essay". I'll walk you through it.
  1. Find the Title Record # of the essay. (1812614)
  2. Go to the publication.
  3. Select 'Import Content' from the Editing Tools: menu.
  4. Under Option 2, enter the record number obtained in step 1 and click 'Import Titles'.
  5. Click 'Submit Data'.
Here is the help section for Importing content. Ask if you have any questions, John Scifibones 08:44, 17 July 2023 (EDT)
I've gone ahead and imported the title since it's been a week. John Scifibones 08:45, 24 July 2023 (EDT)
