Welcome!

Hello, LeonardShoupDOTCom, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- JLaTondre (talk) 10:43, 16 June 2018 (EDT)

The Princess Bride

You left the following note on the title record for all the The Princess Bride editions:

I have sold a lot of copies of this 1974 paperback edition. It always drove me crazy that I couldn't figure out who the cover artist was, so one day I set my mind to tracking this info down. The cover artist is NOT Norman Green. Green did the cover for the 1984 Ballantine paperback edition. The cover artist for the 1974 edition is signed at the lower left of the illustration. It is indecipherable, but my searching for the real artist proved that the cover artist is actually Ted Coconis. The signature on the cover definitely is "T" followed by a "C"....Ted Coconis. As well, this is (i believe ) the only paperback edition that retains the red and black text as it appeared in the hardcover 1st edition (indicating story vs. the grandfather's and grandson's interjections into the story ) Len (PS: I can provide a scan but I am not sure about how to get that to you)

I assume you are talking about the 1974 edition? Our current record does not have a cover image. Is this Amazon image the correct image for this edition? To upload a scan, follow the "Semi-automated Procedure" directions at Help:How to upload images to the ISFDB wiki. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 09:07, 4 April 2020 (EDT)

I have made the changes to the publication. If you have a scan, please do upload as described above since the Amazon image is poor quality. To respond to a wiki post, you can click the [edit] link on the right side of screen on the subject line. This will open an editor to allow you to post on the wiki. You do have to be logged into the wiki (top right of screen), but it is the same account as the database itself. Thank you for proving the cover information. We hope you will continue to participate. -- JLaTondre (talk) 12:44, 4 April 2020 (EDT)
Sorry. I am not very adept at things technical. I uploaded an image and it shows in the list of new uploads, but the image is still the Amazon supplied image. I really don't know (understand ) what to do. Apologies. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by LeonardShoupDOTCom (talkcontribs) .
Cover image uploading is a two step process. Once you have uploaded a cover to the wiki, you need to click on the image (so you get just the image), copy that URL, and then edit the publication to add the URL to the publication. I have cropped & straightened the image and added it to publication. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 16:26, 6 April 2020 (EDT)
