Welcome!

Hello, Fangfan408592, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Mhhutchins 16:27, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

Scott Harper

I'm going to have to reject your submission to change the data of this author. There's a possibility that there are two (or more) authors with this common name. I'm certain that the data is correct for the author of the novel because it's listed on his website. If the short stories are by another Scott Harper, and you have sufficient evidence for that, we can disambiguate them into a different author. Please respond to this message if you can provide the evidence. Thanks. Mhhutchins 16:27, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

The short stories attributed to the Scott Harper from Ohio are actually mine. The listed novel is not. How would you like me to prove it? Fangfan408592 16:48, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
Maybe a saliva swab? :) I'll do the disambiguation, and then point you back to your author page so that you can fill in the author data. Thanks. Mhhutchins 17:45, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
Since you had earlier titles (and more), I've disambiguated the other author. Here's your author page, in which you can update the data. If you're adding other speculative fiction titles, they must be entered as contents in a publication record. Use the links under the "Add New Data" menu to create a new publication record. If you have any questions, ask on the ISFDB:Help desk. Thanks for contributing. Mhhutchins 17:51, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
Thanks I appreciate it. Fangfan408592 17:55, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

Weirdbook #34

Hi. I accepted your submission of Weirdbook #34 but made a couple of small changes:

  • I assumed the note remarking that you own it and have a story that appears in it was meant to be a note to the moderator, not a note about the publication, so I removed it from the pub notes.
  • The cover image URL was some sort of Yahoo search result URL, not one of Amazon's URL, so I replaced it with a link to the image I found on Amazon.
  • I put the title into the Weirdbook series, so it will show up with the other issues.
  • The editorial's title type was set to EDITOR, which isn't correct. EDITOR is the title type for a magazine's main title record (like COLLECTION or ANTHOLOGY). For editorials and other short non-fiction, we use the title type ESSAY. So I changed it to that.

I hope that all looks ok. Please fix up anything that's not correct. Thanks. --MartyD 01:19, 17 March 2017 (UTC)
