From Tuck's Encyclopedia of Science Fiction and Fantasy:
This was originally a companion to Astonishing Stories. It ran the fan section "The Science Fictioneers" - with an attempt at organising groups under this name (in a manner similar to the old Science Fiction League). The magazine also presented book and film reviews. When it changed to the Novels title it published a number of these of interest. The second series was a companion to Famous Fantastic Mysteries and Fantastic Novels. While these were essentially reprint magazines, Super Science was designed for original material. Although its first few issues were only fair, it developed into a magazine of quite good quality and its demise was regrettable. It had some departments, including J. Taurasi's "Fandom Corner."
