Welcome!

Hello, NitroJ7, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! MagicUnk (talk) 12:50, 11 January 2024 (EST)

Help! My Dog Is the Chosen One!

Hi, and a belated welcome! I accepted your submission of Help! My Dog Is the Chosen One!, but a made some minor changes to it so that it conforms to ISFDB standards. This list will look at little daunting, but it's all very minor, and I am just providing explanations:

  • I replaced the cover image link to one from Amazon. We only use links to sites where we have permission to do so, and wp.com is not one of them. See ISFDB:Image_linking_permissions for details if you're interested.
  • I changed the publisher to "Ronit J". If we have information from within the publication itself, we go by that. "Self-published by Ronit J" translates to "Ronit J" for the Publisher field's purposes. If we knew it to be self-published but did not have a statement like that, we would use the author's name. See Help:Screen:NewPub#Publisher for more on that. I added a note about how the publisher is credited.
  • We normalize case in titles, so "The" -> "the". The "Case" sub-bullet in Help:Screen:NewPub#Title has more about that.
  • For unpaginated works, we do not record anything in the Pages field. If we have an equivalent page count (such as Amazon's "print length" on most e-books), we record that in the notes. So I moved that information to the notes.

Please review and make sure everything is as it should be. Feel free to adjust anything I did. Also, accepting that submission added Ronit J and The Hyphn author pages. I added website links (from the pub's copyright page) and some additional information I found on those sites. If you know anything more, review and adjust those as well. All changes are moderated, so you can't damage anything.

Thanks, and thank you for contributing. --MartyD (talk) 08:18, 18 February 2024 (EST)
