Welcome!

Hello, Todd Mason, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- JLaTondre (talk) 19:21, 22 December 2021 (EST)

Bedtime Stories

I accepted your addition of Bedtime Stories, but make some changes:

  • Image URL: I replaced the image URL with an Amazon one. The link in this field needs to be to an image, not to a page containing the image. In addition, we can only use images from sites that have explicitly given us permission to do so. See ISFDB:Image linking permissions for a list of such sites.
  • Web Page Field: I removed the URL in the web page field as it did not discuss the book. ISFDB provides the ability to add links to publication, title, and author records. At the publication level, they should be links specific to that publication (edition, format, etc.). At the title level, they should be about that title (story or book) independent of a specific publication. At the author level, it should be links to pages about the person.
  • External IDs: The values in the these fields should be the applicable record number, not a URL. The software will automatically create the link from the record number.
  • Authors: The author field should just be the author's name as credited on the title page. Translators are added to the notes (pub notes and title record notes).
  • Dates: Translations are dated as of the first appearance of the translation, not the original text.
  • Essays: Essays should be entered as of type Essay. Nonfiction is for books only. For generic essay titles (Acknowledgments, Introduction, Preface, Foreword), we add the publication title in parenthesis.

We appreciate your submission & hope you will continue to contribute. ISFDB has some conventions that need learning so please check out the help links in the welcome message above. And let us know if you have any questions (ISFDB:Help desk is a good resource for asking). -- JLaTondre (talk) 13:03, 25 June 2023 (EDT)

https://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/view_submission.cgi?5701786; PENDING edit adding link to your PV and I'll mention there's another Archive.org copy which seems to be the UK edition. Also, there's a Todd Mason record on ISFDB; if that's you, did you really only publish 2 genre stories between 1994-2010? --Username (talk) 13:24, 25 June 2023 (EDT)
